The Roles of ICT and Digital Technologies in Economy Recovery duri ng and after Covid-19 Pandemic - Experience from Croatian Chamber of Economy

Abstract

Digital transformation has affected public administration in Republic of Croatia as well. Many public services which Croatian government offers to the citizens are available via e-Citizens portal. The portal has been implemented in order to simplify and to speed up as well as to improve quality of communication between public administration with citizens. Additional public services are offered to the citizens via legal entities with public authorities in Republic of Croatia. Some of these services and connected to the portal e-Citizens through National Identification and Authentication System (NIAS) thus providing a high level of information security and privacy. Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) offers all their services, including 12 public authorities, via "Digital Chamber", enabled 530 employees HGK at 24 locations in Croatia and 6 more in the Europe and China to fully serve their customers during Covid-19 Pandemic, bearing in mind that the headquarter of HGK is in Down Town of Zagreb that is severe damaged by the earthquake on 22nd of March this year.
